Sai Prashnavali is a great method for making decisions in your life. Whenever there is a “yes,” you should follow his instructions and proceed. Sometimes, even if you want a “yes,” it may be a “no.” This means there must be some reason why Sai Baba doesn’t want you to proceed. Sai Prashnavali only works when the person fully believes in it. It should not be used for fun.

ASK SAI FOR YES / NO / WAIT
Many of you don’t believe in Sai Baba’s answers, so I will provide you with three real-life examples mentioned in some famous books.
When Sai Baba Prashnavali Says Yes
Once a farmer came to Sai Baba with a dilemma about sowing his crops. Due to his past experiences, the farmer feared the weather and worried about losing his investments. But Sai Baba said, “Yes, and do all your duties on time. Sai is with you.” Surprisingly, the weather changed, and the farmer made a profit, making his family very happy. This story is taken from “Sri Sai Satcharitra” by Hemadpant.
When Sai Baba Prashnavali Says Wait
Here, I will share the story of a devotee named Shama, aka Madhavrao Deshpande. Once, while working on his farm, Shama saw a snake. Before he could react, the snake bit his hand. Extremely anxious, Shama, a Sai Baba devotee, went to ask Sai Baba instead of rushing to a medical facility. Sai Baba told him not to panic or seek medical treatment but to wait. Despite his fears, Shama waited, and miraculously, nothing happened. This story is mentioned in “Shirdi Sai Baba and the Devotees: How to Achieve Happiness in Life” by Vinny Chitluri.
When Sai Baba Prashnavali Says No
This story is also from the book “Sri Sai Satcharitra” by Hemadpant. In this instance, a wealthy businessman, Anna Saheb Patil, a Sai Baba worshiper, was preparing to go out for a business meeting in another town. Before leaving, he went to Dwarkamai, Sai Baba’s home, for permission and blessings. Surprisingly, Sai Baba, who never stopped him before, told him not to go out of the city. As a strong devotee, Anna Saheb Patil didn’t go. A few days later, he learned of a huge riot outside Shirdi that could have been very dangerous for him to travel through.
How Shirdi Sai Baba Helps Always (Personal Experience)
I am 24 years old, and I still remember this incident clearly. It’s a small but significant story close to my heart, showing how I became a Sai devotee.
When I was in class 5, I went to Shirdi for Baba’s darshan with my parents. It was 11 PM, and the mandir was very crowded. I asked a devotee how long it would take to do the darshan, and he said, “It looks like you’re here for the first time. It takes 6 hours if you want to do darshan on Thursday.” This made my family very sad, so we thought we would do darshan from outside and then leave. But suddenly, a kid approached us and asked if we wanted VIP tickets. My father said yes, and the kid led us to a person who, for a small fee, provided us with VIP tickets. Using these, we got darshan in just 5 minutes.
This was the first time I witnessed a miracle of Sai Baba. Since then, I have worshipped him continuously in my daily routine. He has helped me on multiple occasions. When deciding whether to continue my studies in India or abroad, I consulted Sai Prashnavali, which indicated that Sai wanted me to study in India. So far, this has been one of the best decisions I have ever made.
Shirdi Sai Baba’s Background
Sai Baba’s history is fascinating and cannot be fully explained in a short space, but I will provide a glimpse to increase your devotion to him and his Prashnavali. It all started with a 17-year-old who came to Shirdi and began meditating under a tree.
Sai meditated for days, leading some people to think he was a saint, while others thought he was a drug addict. Eventually, he left Shirdi but returned after a year, reportedly having spent time with saints. When he returned, he wore white clothes like Sufi saints. Many people called him Sai, which in Persian means “poor saint,” and in Sanskrit, it refers to the essence of God.
Teachings, Practices, and Philosophy of Shirdi Sai Baba
Sai Baba’s teachings encompass both Hinduism and Islam. Some people offered him an empty mosque, which he named Dwarkamai (a Hindu name). Baba had a simple philosophy: “Sabka Malik Ek” (One God for All). He followed both religions and taught great gurus like Mhalsapati, the priest of Shirdi. Baba considered Swami Samarth from Akkalkot as his brother. He celebrated both Hindu and Islamic festivals and made prasad for the village people. Sai Baba kept a sacred fire inside the mosque, whose ash, called “udi,” was considered sacred and medicinal. Sai Baba was also considered a local doctor, curing various diseases such as cholera and rabies.
